Mt. Katahdin Area Campground
Wilderness Edge Campground, formally Hidden Springs Campground, is under new ownership and offers 32 RV camping sites and 70 tent sites on the Millinocket Lake / Baxter State Park Road just north of Millinocket. It is owned and operated by local residents Larry and Anna Hallett of Millinocket. Wilderness Edge Campground is a perfect spot RV camping and tenting while visiting Baxter State Park and Mt. Katahdin.
Each of our RV camping or tent sites has its own picnic table and firepit. We have hot showers, and clean restrooms. You may swim in our inground swimming pool while the kids play in the playground. Sites in our RV campground have their own electrical and water hook-ups. Camping tent sites have shared water hydrants that are conveniently located near by.
Access to Baxter State Park and Mt. Katahdin is just 20 minutes away from our campground. The park, named after Percival Baxter, offers hiking trails, climbing Mt. Katahdin, back country trekking, wildlife photography and plenty of scenic views. Mt. Katahdin is accessible from three different trail heads. Hiking Mt. Katahdin is an eight to ten hour adventure for most people.
Spend the night near Millinocket at one of our tent sites and canoe or kayaking on the West Branch of the Penobscot River in 30 minutes. Wilderness Edge Campground is only a short distance from many of the popular canoeing and kayaking sites in the Katahdin region. Canoe rentals are located on site with Katahdin Outfitters.
We are located just outside the town line of Millinocket on the way to Baxter State Park and Mt. Katahdin.
